WALLSTREETBETS YOLO · OPTIONS · MAX LOSS BOX SPREAD 1R0NYMAN -2000% EST. 2019

REDDIT'S MOST EXPENSIVE MAN

1R0NYMAN

the 1 is a one  ·  the 0 is a zero

In January 2019 a man sold a box spread on UVXY, turned $5,000 into negative $58,000, and said it literally cannot go tits up.
Robinhood banned the trade. Seven years later, Robinhood built a chain. We launched him on it.

EXHIBIT A

THE TRADE

A box spread is four options that box in a fixed payoff. In theory it is a bond with extra steps — genuinely close to risk-free. In Europe. Where options can only be exercised at expiry. He was not in Europe.

  1. 01

    He deposits $5,000.

A normal amount of money. The last normal thing that happens.

  2. 02

He sells a box spread on UVXY.

Four legs on a leveraged volatility ETF. Robinhood's risk engine scores the position as delta-neutral and effectively riskless, because that is how the math works for European-style options. UVXY options are American-style.

  3. 03

Robinhood hands him $287,500 of buying power.

57.5× leverage. On five grand. The platform's own screen told him there was no meaningful risk. He believed the screen. So did the screen.

  4. 04

He posts it to r/wallstreetbets and withdraws $10,000.

Two times his deposit, in cash, out of a position he had not closed. He calls it a money glitch. The comments beg him to close it. He does not close it.

  5. 05

    Someone exercises early.

That's the whole trap. American options can be exercised any day, by anyone holding them, for any reason. One leg gets assigned, the box stops being a box, and the hedge that made it "riskless" evaporates on a 57.5× position.

  6. 06

    Liquidation.

Robinhood force-closes the account. Final damage: roughly −$58,000 on a $5,000 deposit — a screenshotted return of −1,832.99%. He does not have $58,000.

  7. 07

    Robinhood deletes the feature.

Not his account. The feature. Box spreads were removed from the platform for every single user. One man, one trade, one product line retired.

EXHIBIT B

THE IRONY

There is a reason the name has a 1 and a 0 in it. The man was named after irony and then spent seven years being proven right by a company that owes him a feature.

2019

Robinhood liquidated him.

Their risk model mispriced his box. Their platform lent him 57.5×. Their engine closed him out.

2019

Robinhood banned the trade.

Box spreads: gone. Every user, everywhere. He is the reason a whole strategy left the app.

2026

Robinhood built a chain.

Mainnet live July 1, 2026 — an Ethereum L2 on the Arbitrum stack, permissionless, ETH for gas. Permissionless. Read that one again.

NOW

We launched him on it.

The man Robinhood deleted a feature to stop is now an immutable token deployed on Robinhood's own blockchain. Nobody can ban this one.

They removed the box.
So we put him in one that doesn't close.

ANTI-IMPERSONATION

SPELL IT RIGHT

Fake tickers will use letters. The real one uses digits. This is the single fastest way to tell a clone from the coin.

Ticker: $1R0NY. Always verify the contract address on this page against the explorer before you buy anything.

TOKENOMICS

Honest version, because dishonest versions are how you end up in a screenshot.

TOTAL SUPPLY TBA

Fixed at deploy. No mint function, no rebase, no second printing.

TAX 0 / 0

Zero on buys, zero on sells. The assignment already got you.

LIQUIDITY TBA

Pool details published at launch and verifiable on-chain.

TEAM ALLOCATION TBA

Disclosed in full. Nobody here gets 57.5× on your money.

UTILITY NONE

There is no product, no yield, no revenue and no roadmap to any of that. It is a joke about a man who lost $58,000, priced by strangers. Everything else on this page that looks like a promise is also a joke — the only honest number in memecoins is max loss, and we put ours on the logo.

IF YOU INSIST

HOW TO LOSE MONEY

  1. Get a wallet. Any EVM wallet works. Write the seed phrase on paper, not in a screenshot.
  2. Get ETH on Robinhood Chain. It's an Arbitrum-stack L2 and ETH is the gas token. Bridge in.
  3. Open the pad. Use the button on this page. Do not use a link a stranger sent you.
  4. Check the contract address character by character against the CA at the top of this page.
  5. Buy an amount that can go to zero without changing anything about your week.

QUESTIONS

FAQ

Is this affiliated with Robinhood?

No. $1R0NY is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Robinhood Markets, Inc., Reddit, Inc., r/wallstreetbets, or ProShares. Every company and product named on this page is named to describe a widely reported public event. Deploying on a permissionless chain is not a partnership with the people who built it — that's the entire joke.

Is u/1R0NYMAN involved? Does he get anything?

No, and we've never spoken to him. This is a meme about a famous internet moment, not a person's endorsement.

What actually is a box spread?

You buy a call spread and a put spread at the same two strikes. The payoff at expiry is fixed no matter where the stock goes, so it behaves like lending or borrowing money at a rate. With European options that's tidy. With American options anyone holding the other side can exercise early, one leg vanishes, and the "fixed" payoff stops being fixed — while you are still levered against it.

Why is there a 1 and a 0 in the name?

Because that's how he typed it in 2019 and it stuck. It also happens to be the perfect ticker: digits are hard to impersonate. See Spell It Right.

Can I lose all my money?

Yes. Documented precedent on this very page shows you can lose considerably more than all of it. Memecoins routinely go to zero, liquidity can be removed, and nothing here is protected, insured or refundable.

Is this financial advice?

It's a cartoon of a man being liquidated. No.

THE RECORD

None of this is invented. It's one of the most documented losses in retail trading history, and you can go read it yourself.

THE PART THAT ISN'T A JOKE

$1R0NY is a meme token with no intrinsic value, no utility and no expectation of financial return. It is not an investment, a security, or a managed fund. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice, and nothing here is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy anything, anywhere it would be unlawful to do so.

Crypto assets are volatile and largely unregulated. You can lose 100% of what you put in. Only ever buy with money you are fully prepared to never see again. Do your own research, verify the contract address on-chain, and understand that the historical events described here are reported for satire and context — figures come from public reporting and are approximate.
